Terms and Conditions

Please read the following information carefully. It applies to the provision of hypnosis and hypnotherapy consultations. When you make an appointment with Therese Hygate Hypnotherapy, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.


Your privacy and well-being will be given the highest priority throughout your involvement in the hypnotherapy process. Any information provided by you will be dealt with in the strictest confidence. However, if you reveal information which could be linked to criminal activity or Child Protection issues, I will have no alternative but to pass this onto the appropriate authorities. If you indicate that you are thinking about harming yourself or others then I will also have to take further action.

Confidential notes may be taken to assist with your individual therapy and are kept in secure files. On occasion, I may have to seek consent from your GP or other Health Care practitioner to ensure that you are being provided with the most appropriate therapy and given the best possible outcome. You will be made aware of this during your initial consultation and I will only proceed with your permission.

Therapy Consultations and Fees

Initial consultations are free. Thereafter, each consultation will usually last approximately one hour. Payment terms and duration of session will be discussed and agreed upon at your initial consultation. Payments can be made in cash, by cheque or via BACS transfer and are due in full at the end of the session. You can pay by session or pay for a block of sessions in advance. Cheques should be made payable to Therese Hygate Hypnotherapy and please notify me if an invoice or receipt is required.


Please be aware that if you need to change or cancel your appointment, twenty four hours notice is required in order to release your appointment to other clients. Failure to give twenty four hours notice will be charged at the full fee. I will always give as much notice as possible when cancelling or rearranging a session.


If you are running late for an appointment, please leave a message or send a text to 07511 077252. I will respond  when next available and try to accommodate if the following bookings allow although this may not always be possible. The session may still have to finish at the original time.


If you have booked a course of treatment and paid in advance but do not wish to continue then all remaining sessions will be refunded on request. Sessions which have already been provided or cancelled at short notice cannot be refunded.


As every client is unique, it is not possible to guarantee success. However, I will always use my expertise, experience and training to ensure that you have the best achievable outcome for your goals. Therese Hygate Hypnotherapy is a registered member of the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) and the APHP (The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy) and therefore bound by their ethical codes and standards.
